Graduate of Brooklyn College and retired New York City educator, Barbara is an author of multicultural children's books and has lectured across the United States. She has worked for the United States Department of State in Niger. After founding IOWD, an organization focused on women's health with a concentration on obstetric fistula, Barbara was awarded the Nigerien Presidential Medal of Honor for this work. To date, Barabara continues to lead IOWD and travel to Rwanda with each mission trip.

Graduate of United States Army War College, Princeton University with a Master of Public Administration and Helsinki School of Economics with a Bachelor of Arts and Economics, Ambassador Kirkpatrick has held numerous positions within the United State government including, but limited to, United States Ambassador and Minister Counselor for Political Affairs.
