Continuing Education/In-Services

For healthcare professionals, the value of continuing education cannot be underestimated. It allows one to continuously evolve their wealth of knowledge and personal growth, while simultaneously contributing to improved patient care. Continuing education has long been shown to improve patient outcomes. By staying up to date on the latest in patient care, our multidisciplinary team and the local doctors, nurses, and students alike are better equipped to help patients and improve clinical outcomes. With each and every mission trip, IOWD prides itself on coordinating and facilitating various different continuing education opportunities and in-services for students, staff and the community at large. From the facilitation of neonatal resuscitation training to preventative healthcare education for community members (i.e. breast self-exams, basic life support training, and pregnancy and fistula care education) the IOWD team is ready and willing to share knowledge and skills. More recently, IOWD has successfully implemented online in-services utilizing the Zoom platform to ensure the continuation of these education opportunities when our travel and onsite presences have otherwise been restricted.

Thank you Barb, Dr. Kristin, and everyone else who has been part of this program. Thank you for bringing the best doctors to give us the best sessions...can't thank you enough! I personally have learnt a lot and I hope everyone else did. It couldn't have been possible didn't I join this program. The past months could not have been more productive.
